2026 Full Moon in Virgo Dates

The 2026 Virgo Full Moon occurs exact on Tuesday, 3 March at 10:38 PM (AEDT).

If we break the lunar cycle into 8, the Full Moon phase lasts approximately 3.5 from this time.

The Virgo Full Moon forms a conjunction with the South Node of the Moon. This also creates a Total Lunar Eclipse!

This is an opportunity for deep release of behavioural patterns that do not serve you, particularly around Virgo shadow themes of perfectionism or overthinking.

About a Full Moon

A Full Moon occurs when the Moon moves opposite the Sun in the sky. Us here on Earth are between the two bodies.

The Sun’s light fully illuminates the Moon, so she shines brightly, and we have the peak of light and energy in the lunar cycle.

The Full Moon is the 5th lunar phase completing the first half of the lunar cycle.

Throughout history, the Full Moon was a time for outward celebration, energetic rituals, fertility, abundance, and enjoying the fruits of your labour.

Many people are sensitive to the light and energy of a full Moon. Some are woken at 3 AM with a rush of creativity. A Full Moon is typically the time in the lunar cycle for the most social activity and fun. There is a spark in the air.

Virgo Full Moon

While the Full Moon occurs in Virgo, the Sun is in Virgo's opposing sign, Pisces. We are in the middle of these two energies, and you are called to bring together the two polarities.

Themes this Full Moon:

• Grounding: Earth sign Virgo wants you to ground by connecting to the earth and your body, and the water sign Pisces is mystical and spiritual.

• Integration: Allow this Full Moon to integrate your spirituality (Pisces) into your daily habits (Virgo).

• Release: A key theme of a Full Moon is to release what no longer serves you. Since Virgo is an earth sign, I picture this Full Moon where a woman runs carefree through a field, skipping, not holding on to anything that doesn't serve her at the moment. Virgo is associated with purification. Identify if your body, mind or spirit needs Virgo purification?

• Health & Routine: Think of things in the Virgo realm of health, daily habits, and self-care. Identify what is holding you back in one of these areas and release it; it could be a mindset, a belief, a behaviour or an outlet. An example could be ceasing time on your phone after 9 PM so you can instead meditate, which combines Virgo's daily habits with Pisces's spiritual practice.

• Manifesting: This lunar cycle started with the last new moon. The New Moon was the time to set intentions. Revisit your New Moon intentions. The energy from the Full Moon will help you manifest the intentions you set. Allow the light of the Moon to illuminate your purpose and path to achieving your intentions.

Virgo is a kind and humble earth sign.

Virgo Full Moon Rituals

You can be as elaborate as you like or as simple as you like. I love to mark the new and full moon with a ritual, at the very least some journaling. Here are some ways to celebrate a Virgo Full Moon:

Immersion

Full Moon bath ritual. I like to listen to a full moon specific meditation while I’m in the bath. My rule for a Full Moon bath is no artificial light, only candles in the room. Your bathroom may even be positioned in a way that you get moonlight coming through the window!

The flower for Virgo is chrysanthemum if you want to decorate your bath area.

Tea

Brew your tea and leave it out overnight in the full moon light.

I’ll have a bergamot English Breakfast tea that I will brew and sip while I sit in my garden (Virgo environment).

We often are focused on indoor rituals we forget that the full moon is actually occuring outside and we have an opportunity to bathe in the cycle of light. Step outside and gaze in awe at the sun’s light reflected back to us in the darkness of night.

Crystals

Use Virgo crystals: Amazonite, fluorite, sodalite and smoky quartz.

Movement

Dancing around your living room with your favourite music.

Going for a walk in nature or sitting in your garden to connect to Virgo’s element, earth.

Connect Your Senses

Burning essential oils or candles.

Some scents that are associated with Virgo include ylang ylang, sandalwood and bergamot.

Connection

Hold a Full Moon circle with friends.
